just the basics visible mending transfers

Just the Basics

Sometimes simple stitches are all you need. Just the Basics is a set of pre-printed mending guides designed to make visible repair easy, approachable and beautifully neat. Follow the pattern as-is, use it to practice consistent stitches, or treat it as a starting point for something entirely your own.

Each transfer is printed with a 5 mm grid of running stitches or crosses. Simply cut to size, stick it over the area you’d like to mend and stitch along the lines. When you’re finished, rinse away the water-soluble guide and your handwork is all that remains.

What’s included
Four 11 × 4.25 in transfers:
Parallel running stitch
Staggered running stitch
Parallel crosses
Staggered crosses

Want to learn with us?
We use Just the Basics in our beginner Visible Mending class at hey maker. Bring along a well-loved garment in need of repair and we’ll show you how to put these little guides to work. Your kit is included with the class and yours to keep, so you can keep mending long after the workshop is over.
