And unlike most natural dyes, the colour doesn’t reveal itself in the dye pot. Fibres emerge yellow-green, then slowly turn blue as the indigo meets the air. Created by award-winning Canadian textile artist Julie Sinden of The Love of Colour, this beginner-friendly kit contains everything you need to create your own organic indigo vat and dye fabric, yarn, clothing and other textiles in shades ranging from soft, washed-out blue to rich, saturated indigo.
Everything is pre-measured (no chemistry degree required), with detailed step-by-step instructions written for absolute beginners. The indigo is 100% plant-based, and the whole thing comes tucked inside a recyclable kraft box, silk-screened by hand.
